The ocean
It stretches out before me
Its grand beauty swaying before me
Like reeds in a sweet breeze
The salty air and sand beneath my feet
The amber sunset and sapphire sea
All surrounding my thoughts
I lie here resting
Pondering upon the past
The deep dark and pain
It hurts
But as I hear the waves
Those sweet waves
Oh how the song of serenity reaches my ears
Oh how the times slip away into the night
Oh how I long again for that time to return
How I wish I could fall back
Leaning yet again on your shoulder
We lie there that afternoon
Gazing into the infinite abyss
Wondering if that was our future
Would we be forever apart
Like the ocean and the sky
We pondered then
And I ponder now
Will we be
Or is this fate’s cruel game?
The question hangs in the air
Held aloft by gentle breeze.
Then tossed away….
Fading into the sweet summer night.
