Soft Day

The sunlit valley lies east
The darkness has faded softly with the morning rays
Stars darken
As azure streaks break
The light breeze falls upon my cheek
Leaves rustle by my side
Falling all about
Like raindrops upon the sky
Time passes by
As seconds fade into afternoon
The sky darkens
The pale moon rises to the crimson sun
Whose death signifies the end of day
Time slows as gentle lights break the shadowed hills
Trees stand in stark recollection
Each leaf illuminated by silver light
They whisper sweet nothings
Lullabies
Carrying me into the night
That sweet slumber
