That faithful day of yesteryear
That fell upon my mind
I look unto the stars for rest
The sleep cast about in subtle dreams
That night, that dream
Was it real?
Sight so fair so still
I ponder on that day
Her eyes so cool
In it’s gaze my heart
Lying still in time
Falling yet again
I toss and turn that single place
That lies inside the past
That simple meet of future loss
Of life and endless dream
Brings back to me my eventide
With which my heart doth sing.
