Winter

Each flake floating
Lightly in the air
I watch them
Waltzing
In pale moonlight
They descend
Fluttering softly
As the breeze  doth blow
Each flake a frosty tear
Falling from a sorrowed sky
Wiped away
By winter’s sweet love
Its cold embrace
Comforting
Yet lacking
I ponder
As they fall
Lightly
They whisper to me
Of the pains in life
Of their sorrows
Of afflictions beyond life
Grieving me
I join the sky
I share
Each tear
Until the cold winter’s night
Breathes its last
Until sweet spring
Descends
Bringing warmth
Back to my heart.
