I lie against the window
Silently dreaming
Of memories past
Of walks
Through sunlit forests
Of rests
Under moonlit trees
Of times
When I could sleep
The old memories
The past so alive
Yet out of reach
I stretch forth my hands
Reaching for the light
Of an evening star
Only to wake
Arm outstretched
Awaiting the arising sun.

Dawn
I lie among lilies
Wondering up at the sky
Questioning myself
Awaiting my thoughts
Each memory
I remember
Each minute
I try to hold onto forever
The sun rises upon my night
Casting light upon my face
It clears my mind
As I stare
Watching
The crimson fire
Flies across sapphire sky
Burning into silver clouds
Arising from its nightly death
Reborn anew
Like my thoughts
My memories
My passions
Awoken
In the passage of time.
Winter
Each flake floating
Lightly in the air
I watch them
Waltzing
In pale moonlight
They descend
Fluttering softly
As the breeze doth blow
Each flake a frosty tear
Falling from a sorrowed sky
Wiped away
By winter’s sweet love
Its cold embrace
Comforting
Yet lacking
I ponder
As they fall
Lightly
They whisper to me
Of the pains in life
Of their sorrows
Of afflictions beyond life
Grieving me
I join the sky
I share
Each tear
Until the cold winter’s night
Breathes its last
Until sweet spring
Descends
Bringing warmth
Back to my heart.
Ocean Memoirs
The ocean
It stretches out before me
Its grand beauty swaying before me
Like reeds in a sweet breeze
The salty air and sand beneath my feet
The amber sunset and sapphire sea
All surrounding my thoughts
I lie here resting
Pondering upon the past
The deep dark and pain
It hurts
But as I hear the waves
Those sweet waves
Oh how the song of serenity reaches my ears
Oh how the times slip away into the night
Oh how I long again for that time to return
How I wish I could fall back
Leaning yet again on your shoulder
We lie there that afternoon
Gazing into the infinite abyss
Wondering if that was our future
Would we be forever apart
Like the ocean and the sky
We pondered then
And I ponder now
Will we be
Or is this fate’s cruel game?
The question hangs in the air
Held aloft by gentle breeze.
Then tossed away….
Fading into the sweet summer night.
