Broken

I was once broken

Shattered, scattered and tossed

Lost among the pieces

Struggling to find a way

To fill the hole they left

I once was drowning

Fighting, swimming and crying out

Tossed in the waves

Seeking and searching

For shore, a rest from this pain

I was once defeated

Dejected, rejected and tossed

Aside, like so many others

Trying to find a home

I once was broken

Now I’m mending

And though I’m not quite whole

I am no longer lost

Or drowning

I am not defeated

For I have found my home.

Thoughts

I haven’t written in ages

The words don’t seem to come

The ink has dried in my absence

Leaving blank, the pages of my soul

Night has blinded my hope

Lingering doubts

In corruption’s wake

I sit, illuminated

Bathed in the soft glow of procrastination

Each hour wasted,

Lost in transient space

Time, passes harshly

Jagged pieces crystallize

Piercing the soft shrouds of recollection

Draining memories, falling lightly upon the desk

I raise my fingers

Individual vessels, carrying the ideas of generations

Expressions

Divergent ideologies

Separate, but one

Voices echo in my ears

Etching drafts of communication

Communing in ancient union

Receiving and rejecting

The projections of life

Perceptions

Captured interpretations

Blurred individualism

Overriding basic humanity

Forgetting ourselves

Slipping into roles

Changing our dreams

Waking to truth

Shades of lessons

Remaining in the distance

Sleep fades…

Silent Bells

Silent bells ring over autumn fields
As fire alights in auburn skies
Gentle waves fall softly in the distance
Singing lullabies

Ancient forests crawl upon mountainside
Like emerald scars
Crimson leaves fall
A striking resemblance to Mars.

War and peace
Pieces of time
Words of faith
Comfort and rhyme

Rhythm of rivers
Rivers so deep
Waters falling
As giants weep

Night has fallen
Now you dream
Upon your face
Moonlight gleam.

Season’s Peace

Winter’s chill, Autumn’s bane.
Spun about in thread.
Stitched in evergreen mountainside
Binding seasons
Summer’s glare, Spring’s revival
Calling back from death
From time
Restored anew
Feathers held aloft by gentle air
Glide swiftly overhead
Falling
As flakes upon the clouds
Raining peace
Upon travelers traversing
Softly whispering a sweet song
Peace
Be Still
May your lives be a fanciful as dreams
And your dreams
A reality worth living.

Rosy Dreams

A frosted rose lies discarded upon the drifts
As spirits dance in the flurries.
Frozen lakes sport a settled thought.
One of grand origin and purpose.
Dense and unmovable by time it waits.
The flower has fallen against the tides of life
Shattered
Pieces fly and drift upon the wind
Seeking…
Their scent finds you restless
Brings you vision of winter wonder
Each a moment of beauty and peace.
You drift away as the scent descends
Alighting upon your rosy cheeks.
Lulling you
Calling you to rest
A rose
Dreaming once again.

Literary Silence

Words spoke in solemn sleep
In sweet slumber doth rest
With tears of sapphire weep
Fearing future dread

Hid beneath the darkness
We breathe our final breath
Singing with our sorrows
Failing to address

Silencing those that write
Infractions on our dreams
Reality as life
Tracing out our souls

Tearing from our fingers
Time.

Untitiled 3

There was once a glorious sunset
I didn’t tell her
There was this perfect time
I didn’t tell her
There was that one silence
I didn’t break it
We went on a walk
I didn’t tell her
We walked back home
I gave nothing away
She started to walk inside
I did stop her
I did look her in the eyes
Those chilling, wonderful pale blue eyes
I did tell her
We did dance in the rain
We did end up really cold
Yeah we did..
It was so worth it.

How Far…

Thinking back to that day
I see we have come so far
So much closer to time
So much further from ourselves

From the words I spoke then
To the words ever silenced
For the hours past
For the years that may become

Our lives

Our lives
Intertwined in that fiend we call time
The eluder of capture
The immortal gatekeeper

Passing us by in river of confusion
Draining an ocean of possibilities
As each second ticks away
On the clock of our fate

Dreams fading as we walk
Our paths diverging
Crossing into ethereal skies
Cast into the night

Light fades as days draw closer
Closing in on finality
The end to all dreams
The beginning of rest

I awake

I awake to your voice
Calling after my name
Sleepily I answer
Stretching forth my arms

Reaching forward to grasp
To hold your fingers in mine
Realizing you were there
Always.

Living Again

Words mean nothing anymore
Crossing the lips of lesser beings
Flowing forth restlessly
Shattering the second wave
Oceans of time standing still
Waiting for a chance to escape
Escaping that deep, heavy breath
Breathing for once
Free again to search
Seeking for life
A Life to live
To be what I am
Breaking bonds
Binding the thought
Thoughts flowing effortlessly
Sliding through resistance
Walls crumbling before logic
Doubts fleeing before reason
Reasoning with my inner soul
Spirit to mind
Logic to love
Spurred into recollection
Remembrance
Memories best left alone
Lost in the tides of my restoration
Restoration to life
Living again
For me
For her
Forever

Panda

Pursuing his leaves the bandit pounces
White and black in tow
A lovely bloke just the same
As far as pandas go

His coat is soft
His ears are warm
He smiles oft
Into the storm

A shaky leaf
A village bamboo
A little brief
What’s a bear to do

He runs away
Flees tonight
Back someday
Another fight

Till then we must bid farewell
Until another tale he will tell.
